AYM/1 Update

While looking at my pictures, I realized I forgot to include Judy's layouts. She is always so good to get them to me early, that I just overlooked them. Jeanne sent hers early too, so here they are:
Jeanne: "kids---the original 7" and "live, laugh, love"
Jeanne: "Mega Bus" and "Navy Pier"

 Judy: "Kindergarten"
Judy:  "Driver License" What a good idea to save all your licenses.

Judy: "mountain" and "nifty nine"

AYM/1

 Janet: "my babies"
 Janet: "now look"
 Janet: "kickback and relax anywhere."
 Janet: "laborer doing homework"
Barb: "mmm...mom, you smell good---just like home!" and "neighborhood kids"
Barb: "mitchell's stache" and "mindy is a notary"
Barb:  "keepsakes" and "leader of the pack" (Steph is giving me the "e's" I need for the title---and yes, I know I used the same picture twice---just not until I finished the layout!)
Barb: "kids say the darndest things!" and "license to drive."
Connie: "love in bloom" and "memory keepers"
Connie: "malinda & merritt" and "needlework now"
Karolyn: "icee bear" and "jump rope"
Karolyn: "kkk of course" and "lafayette lions"

TSRCC

The challenge this month was to use a number in the title, try something you've never done or used before and the colors were, lime, red, blue, yellow and orange. It turned out to be a fun layout to do.
Jan chose the challenge this month. Her layout is about her brother's first birthday. She made the little paper rolls for the first time.
Linda's title "2 at the Beach." She cut the palm trees out of the paper.
Sandy's title: "4 Super Stars; 1 Swim Meet." She punched the stars out of paper towels and inked them. In order to get a good cut, she placed the paper towels between two pieces of paper.
My layout is called "These 2 Sleep Together." I used some products that had been sitting around for quite awhile including liquid pearls.
Charon's layout is also for AYM. Titled: "Happiness is the Beach." She numbered all the photos with her journaling on the left.

Linda has chosen our challenge for next month. We are to choose a song as the title for our page. Here are the colors:
The colors are a little hard to see. They are lime, olive, pink and teal.

On another note, I was telling the girls at lunch about a new recipe I tried this weekend. I said I'd post it here for all.

Chocolate Pudding Dump Cake

1 small box instant chocolate pudding (I used fat and sugar free).
1 3/4 cup milk (can use skim)
1 chocolate cake mix (plain, cheap)
1 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Mix pudding with milk. When thickened, add cake mix (dry). Mix together. It will be very thick. Spread in to a sprayed 9x13 pan. It's sort of hard to spread---I ended up using my fingers. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 25 minutes or until edges start pulling away from pan. The chocolate chips will not melt (although they will be somewhat gooey when you touch them). I cooled it completely. It has a pudding-ish texture to the cake. It's very good and so easy.

Technique

Even though I did this layout a few years ago, I wanted to share a technique that I used. I scanned my planner. Then, I printed it out on to an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of vellum. I painted my chipboard letters blue. I placed the vellum on top and cut the letters out. Now my calendar is also part of the title.

AYM/3

The topic this month was to complete the phrase:
"Happiness is..."
Here are the results:
This is my layout from 3 years ago. Sorry it's so fuzzy. I pulled it off of my blog, so it didn't transfer very well. My title: "Happiness is a stroll through my garden."

I challenged the group to find an inspiration piece somewhere. This layout by Kathy was inspired by the add below.

Linda Stevens found this magazine add. She used the bottom half of the  add for her layout.

The layout below by Charon was inspired by this page from the 31 catalog.

Kathy also used a magazine for her inspiration piece. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of it.

Here are some of the gals in this group: from back---left to right: Shara, Charon, Jennifer, Erna (hiding in the back), Barbara, Jan, Beverly, Linda Notestine, Kathy and Linda Stevens

Here are a couple "Home" layouts from last month:

Our topic for this month is to scrapbook the everyday---the details of your life. Here are my layouts from 3 years ago:
"Weekly" details each day of the week.
"Details of Everyday Life" is my second layout. I couldn't decide which approach to take, so I did two.

The topic for next month is to scrapbook the "everyday" or "life's details." Here is my layout and a few others for inspiration:
