The challenge this month was to use a banner---so popular right now---with the color combination of grey, cream, and aqua with a hint of lime.
We were happy to welcome a new member (but an old friend from Greenbrier) Angie Holt. She is a true scrapbook artist as you can see above. She is a master at 3 dimensional pages.
My layout is titled: "in the Country"---about Grandpa and Grandma Zimmermann's house in Barnhart, MO. My cousin, Julie, sent me so many great pictures of the inside of the house---I'm thrilled to have them. No surprise that I would have a lot to say, so I created a pocket behind the picture of grandma Z to tuck the journaling.
Linda Stevens completed this extra layout from one that I designed for our day group last year after Christmas with pictures from our holiday party.
This is Linda's layout for the challenge. She has really done a good job with telling the story. My preaching is paying off!
Pam's layout is about Lauren and Chris' trip to Venice this past summer. She's left the lower right for journaling but I don't know who is doing that---her or Lauren.
Sandy Good did her layout about her grandson's swim meet. This challenge is good for her---we tease her about most of her layouts being "orange." She and her family are HUGE University of Tennessee fans.

Jan Seagraves is our card maker---and she makes some beautiful ones. She said that she had a good time with the banners and ended up making 3 cards. They are really involved---anyone would love to get one!
Jan has also started scrapbooking---but she doesn't look like a beginner. I snapped a couple of shots from her album. This was an older layout that she did a few months ago---but since it had a banner, I wanted to include it.

Kathy Means titled her layout: "Waitin' on a Man"---a take-off from the Brad Paisley song "Waitin' on a Woman." The theme is about their dog that anxiously waits for her husband. Very cute---and she told the story. Love that!
Lola Fields has a new "grand"nephew, Turner, that she is baby-sitting. He is a cutie for sure. She assures us that she's not going to "quit" us---we hope not. She used bead chain along the top of the banner. Also, she questioned her use of the flower on a page with a boy---but we all loved it. It in no way looks like a "girlie" page.
It is my turn to pick the topic and color combination. Of course, I will always pick something "quirky" for the topic. This month, I'm having everyone scrapbook their car. We use them every day and couldn't live without them. However each person wants to approach it---it's wide open. Every one has some sort of story to tell about their car sometime in their life. 50 years from now, people will be happy to see what we drove today compared to what they will be driving then.
And the color combination is just luscious! Turquoise, red, white and celery green. Can't wait to play with those colors.
